With less than 30 days to go until my due date, here is a snapshot of my world at the moment:
* Physically: Belly, tight. Back, achy. Chest pains (?) when I lie on my left side. My belly button is really tiny, but still an innie! Maternity pants barely fit anymore. And now, nightly Braxton-Hicks contractions, I think. They started this past weekend and are quite uncomfortable.
* Sleep: Not much.
* Mental status: Positive. Happy and excited, regardless of anything else.
* Work: Ready to be done and start my leave. I have a colleague who makes me laugh because every day she checks on me and tells me her most recent plan for who will drive me to the hospital, and who will sit in the back seat and hold my hand, if I go into labor while at work. I must confess I will miss her and some of the others while I'm gone.
* Baby: Wiggling, rolling, hiccuping and growing. Yesterday I was almost convinced that he had turned to head-down position. Today, not so sure.
* Next OB appointment: Friday morning.
* Baby's room: Ugh. Shipment of crib is delayed at least another 8 weeks. That's 8 weeks from now. Dresser/changing table should arrive in 3 weeks. Hopefully. Good thing we got the convertible crib...it may just be here by the time he goes to college!
* Husband: Doting. Particularly in light of probable B-H contractions. Calls me twice a day to check on me. Happy that my mat leave will begin soon. He is even protective against my MIL and Wacky P, who wanted us to come to Wacky P's for dinner Friday night. Nights are not my best time, and the last thing he thinks I should suffer through right now is having to sit for hours at Wacky P's house, being hassled by her in-your-face, without-boundaries, loud, dirty-fingernailed children, and being subjected to incessant questioning by my MIL. Thanks, honey! Instead, MIL and Wacky P will come to our house Sunday morning for coffee (no kids!).
* Presents: One of my sisters, who lives in Texas, sent me a box of really sweet baby presents. Here's one of the items she sent, pastel green and softer than soft!

Thinking of you my friend, thank you so much for your constant support! I love the slippers!!! Fran
Oh my goodness, how adorable are those slippers? Too cute!
I'm sorry to hear that you're still so uncomfortable, it really stinks when you just want to be able to enjoy every moment of the pregnancy.
Ugh! Crib manufacturers and their silly delays! There is a general shipping slow down out of Asia right now, I wonder if that has anything to do with the delay? Either way, I'm glad to know you've got the pack n play for him to sleep in intially. He'll be nice and comfy in there!
Glad to hear that the dinner at Wacky P's didn't happen, though I have to admit that it would be fun to hear one your crazy stories about her. It's been a while, thankfully. :o)
Anyway, keep on going mama! Baby BWUB will be here before you know it! I may comment less now, but know that I'm checking in on you and thinking of you.
Aw, I miss coworkers like that! One of the negatives of working from home is not having colleagues for new friendships.
You sound like you're doing great! Sorry for the aches and pains and UGH that crib delay. But all in all, you're a superstar!
You're getting so close! I was just reading our first email to one another yesterday before either of us was pregnant. It's all SO SURREAL HUH! Can't wait to see your little man, won't be long now :)
I think about you so much these days. Sounds like you are uncomfortable but really happy. And DH - what a winning move.
I think your a superstar as well!
Eb
wow...you are *so* in the final stretch! how exciting!
sweet slippers from your sister!
Of course we are right at the same point, as usual. My belly button is still in but it has become a little diagonal wrinkle, lots of BHs, bad sleep...
We also have no crib, but then again we don't have a room for the baby either! We'll probably end up moving on the day I go into labor...
And - I aso have a sister in Texas! Now I'm just hoping that the doting husband thing will come into play... when he gets back into town he should be recovered from his bronchitis, so there should be no excuses!!!!
How cute are those!!!!???
Sounds like it's time for you to quit work! Bummer about the crib. Guess I'd better get busy and get some furniture in the works. I finally caved and ordered the stroller yesterday because I discovered it's back ordered and won't ship until May. Better get my shit together!
Hurray for doting DH and fun colleagues and cutie pie gifts!! Sorry to hear about the B-H contractions and the delayed crib...Everything sounds like it's mostly in place, though, and I hope that you get a nice surprise at your appointment tomorrow and baby boy is doing a headstand for you!
Thinking of you - can't wait!
Love,
Maddy
Yay...it won't be long now!
As for the crib, don't even give it a second thought. He'll be sleeping close to you all for a couple months before you'd want to move him to a crib anyhow. It may even arrive before you're ready for him to move into it!
Am LOVING those slippers...and I live in TX. I missed the memo that such cuteness exists in this state. Those are adorable!!
Hang in there with the discomfort and just try to enjoy those brief moments each day when it isn't a total body rebellion.
