Our Story - via Comic Book

I am ready to send copies of my comic book to my Mom and to my Dad and his wife. They will get the first two copies. I'm holding off sending copies to my siblings until I'm sure my parents have received their copies. Otherwise, I know my older sister will immediately call our Dad and blurt out, "Daddy, Daddy, can you believe BWUB is pregnant?!" and he won't yet have any clue.

Disaster averted.

So I'm attaching some photos of it below. It's pretty long, so this is just to give you an idea of how it turned out. And obviously most of you know the story pretty well!

I have no idea if you'll be able to read the text in the photos below, but if you double click on a picture, it should open a larger version if you want to try to actually read it.

So here we go!

cover

donor parents, as I imagine them

donor parents visit the clinic and pour over possible egg and sperm donors

after choosing egg and sperm donors, the goods are mixed!

wife gets her transfer and remaining embies are frozen

they have their babies and 5 years later begin to think about the embies

BWUB and Mr. BWUB enter the picture (I always draw myself with curly hair)

after getting matched with our embryos and taking the meds, its time to go to the clinic for my transfer

our puppies stay at the pet hotel

after a 2ww, we get some good news!

my first u/s

waiting, worrying, working and going for u/s's

we're ready to tell our secret!

more u/s pictures

a thank you to our donor parents for giving us the gift of a lifetime

the end (sort of), which needs to be modified to say 5 1/2 months

I hope you enjoyed it!

Wow - what a great book!! Even just the pages you showed us tell the story so beautifully. You are very talented as an artist and a story-teller! I can't wait to hear about your family's reactions. That's such an exciting part of this, when your family knows and is excited for you!!

Adorable! I may have to steal that idea, especially if we wind up doing DE, to explain to the clueless family members. But I'll make sure to put a little "Best When Used By" trademark on the back! ;)

Beautiful! I have also joined the tear-stained chorus. I cannot wait to hear how your parents respond.

BTW: good news on the mat pants!

Also I really appreciate the email you sent me. I am looking into that option and it really gave me hope at 3:30 AM when the whole world felt black and bleak.

I love it!! Great job! Even though, I know your story, I so loved reading about it this way. For me, I especially liked hearing about your donors - I don't think I fully realized that they had used donor eggs and a sperm donor to get pregnant. I'm so hoping I have the same luck that they did and can hopefully donate the remaining embryos to a nice couple like you one day. Great story - I'm sure your family will love it.
