I did it! I gave myself my first Lupron injection today!
Okay, okay, I know many of you have given yourselves hundreds of shots. And I know that Lupron can cause all kinds of nasty side effects. The headaches. The hot flashes. The bad dreams. Acne? (great...looking forward to that).
But I feel celebratory because with that first injection, I feel like I have officially started this cycle. The BCPs by themselves didn't feel very important. A shot, however, is tough to ignore! I'm one day closer to transfer.
Oh, and one other unexpected side effect. A good one! My husband seems unusually sweet and protective of me today. Hmmmm, I think he's realizing that this is "for real" too!

Congratulations! You are on your way, headaches be damned. Just try to get a lot of sleep!
Ha Ha Ha...you are on your way....I laughed because we crave pain, we bear pain...everything...for a baby!
All the very very very best!

I wish you lots and lots of luck for your upcoming IVF cycling, hope you get good news soon!
Happy ICLW!
Well done! The 1st few shots are the hardest to do. I would find myself standing in my kitchen with the needle, pinching my belly fat, taking a deep breath and saying "1, 2, ok now!" wait "1-2-3, now!" (repeat several times until actual success) By the end of the cycle, I could inject and talk on the phone without missing a beat. Good times.... which will be followed by even better times!
BTW: you asked on my blog how I know about FLKs. I am a therapist and worked on a children's psych unit for years. small world.
hey congratulations! off to the races, as we say in the UK.

you can do it! Now onto the big injections! I never got to that part so I can't say how to get your hubby involved. Maybe if he sees you do it to yourself first he will feel he is not going to kill you by doing it.I would try all the steps you suggest and help him every step of the way and if he just can't do it then at least he has tried. could you have him do the little ones first as a sort of baby steps approach. I think if you have never injected yourself or anyone else, starting on a big one is going to be that much harder.good luck:)
