How It Will Be

Spotting stopped. This is good. I am grateful.

My next U/S is Thursday. I'll be roughly 8w4d. If that one looks good, I think I'll be comfortable waiting 2 weeks to do another. Of course I say this now. We'll see what I say on Thursday.

What with having to start a new job this coming week, my DH reminded that despite all the frenzy that is about to take place, I must remember that the most important thing is take care of myself and this baby. Whatever the cost. He means I shouldn't allow myself to be too rushed, too stressed, or too overwhelmed as I adjust to the new job and new routine.

He's right, of course. And he knows me too well. That's me - getting all swept up in getting out the door on time, making it to appointments on time, getting to work on time, getting the dogs to daycare...rush, rush, rush. Pressuring myself to learn a new job and prove myself and impress everyone. Trying to run errands during the lunch hour and multi-tasking and doing all the things that we women tend to do.

I have to let the need to do all of that go. No pressure. Believe things will get done without my forcing them to happen sooner. Prioritizing and letting the little stuff go.

This is going to be a real test. But I intend to pass it with flying colors, because there is a little drumstick counting on me.

You are just too sweet! Thank you SO MUCH for the pumpkins & apple love you shared on my blog-It made everything better!

YES, I AGREE with DH. GIRL, don't rush it, your drummie has waited a long time for you-take your time and chill. IF you are like me, chill is not in your blood. I'm a GO GET EM, GIT ER DONE type planning maniac. Your health & babes is numero uno.

I'm so glad to hear that the spotting stopped - yay! And that was great advice from your husband. Time to change your perspective and focus on what's most important now - your little drumstick! I'm sure you'll still impress everyone in your job - just don't try to be Wonder Woman.

I say here here to the above advice! This a dress rehearsal for motherhood actually where you will be multi tasking a lot but making sure that the little one is your number one priority or I should say that your family will be -to include hubby! So I think it's great practice! Good luck with the transition - be kind to yoursef and I'll be routing for you!

you will be awesome. things will go smoother if you take one thing at a time, and allow yourself time to prepare, plan, breathe, and then execute. Quality not quantity, slow and steady wins the race. also let yourself understand the essence of the office- you're not making the same wage as you used to, maybe they take things at less of a frenetic pace. Jumping too fast into the muck will be really hard on you, and may cause upheaval! If you are half as nice at work as you are online, you will be super loved, and everyone will give you a hand getting into the swing of it!

Petal, that rushed person was you BEFORE the pregancy. Now your priorities are different and I'm sure you'll behave acordingly! I am delighted that your spotting has stopped too...even if there's nothing to worry about, it's terribly stressful (for me anyway). Big big hugs from this side of the ocean, can't wait to see your next us pic! Fran

so glad to hear the spotting stopped. cant wait to hear about the u/s on thursday.

your hubbys advice sounds smart. my guess is that your body will force you to slow down in the next few days/weeks anyhow, as the first trimester blahs hit. ;) i could barely make it through a day at work without crashing my head into my desk from exhaustion from about 9w-20w!

good luck tomorrow!

I am sooooooo glad to hear that you are planning for balance in your life. Setting yourself and your baby as priorities above frenetic work activity is a huge success/ not failure. Keep telling yourself that, even if others try to push you past your boundaries. Besides, I have a feeling that the tiredness pg symptom is about to kick in! :)

It's Monday, early- so heres a hip hip horray for your first day at work, rah rah and a back flip for good measure.

Have a great day...
I hope it feels good- like the first day of school as a kid, when you pack your lunch up and tighten your belt, and tie your shoes "just so" and sharpen your favorite type of pencils to help your day go just right.
