There is Blood, But No Panic

You all calmed me down yesterday and forced some reason into my brain. You reminded me that the deed is done and what will be will be.

It is a good thing we had this talk yesterday, because today (I think I am now 11dp3dt) I went to the restroom at 11:30 am and here was brown blood. Quite a bit. Wiping produced more. And more.

Uh, I would have thought any implantation bleeding would have shown up like 4 or 5 days ago. I also noticed some cramping today too. Not really AF cramping, but definite cramps.

Nope, I did not panic. Instead, we went out to lunch. If it is implantation bleeding, well, it will do its thing, finish up and all will be fine. If it is a sign of impending doom, well, there is nothing I can do about that. The good news is that the pee stick was definitely darker today.

So, amazingly, I am calm. Tomorrow's beta will be a number, but the real information will come with Wednesday's 2nd beta. Number up or number down. Someone will need to remind me how the doubling works. The only beta I ever had was with a m/c, so I never knew the "doubling rule" calculation.

With this lab, I NEVER have results before 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon. So it's going to be a long day's wait.

Thanks, all, for helping me find and maintain my sanity.

I also wanted to congratulate Lorraine at Elderly Ovary for her positive pee stick (hurray!) and also Cindy at Bang head here
for making it to the head of the DE line and choosing an egg donor so that she and her partner can prepare to begin her cycle (yippee!). Best of luck to you!

I'm sure you are just fine. Brown means old blood so I think that is a good thing.

THRILLED your pee stick looked darker-woo hoo! Your beta will be GREAT! Can't wait to hear!

Just realized we will be in FL on VACA for my first beta. DON'T THINK I AM NOT paying to have it done there, I AM LOL! AND, will take pee sticks too LOL! I'm a maniac! Where is the best place to buy Pregnancy Test & the cheapest?

As for the coffee, I WAS AN ADDICT! I had to give it up cold turkey or I was afraid my temptation to finish the pot would be to great! I don't even crave it, it just went away!

Praying for a GREAT beta number tomorrow friend!

Yay, I just got back from a weekend away and am so happy to see your HPT posts! Do NOT worry about the brown blood, brown is good and some women have as much as a full AF's worth. Also, are you on progesterone? If so, brown discharge is VERY common, something about the progesterone irritates the cervix and prompts spotting which sometimes takes a few days to come out (hence the brown color).

You want to see your beta double every 48-72 hours in early pregnancy. You can calculate it here: http://www.betabase.info/doublingCalc.php

I'll be watching and hoping and praying! GL GL GL!

Thanks for your sweet thoughts. I am super excited about having a real transfer on the books!! Yay.

As for you, I think the others posters are right. Those suppositories can irritate your cervix badly... thus brown blood. Bedides wouldn't bright red blood be the bad sign at this point? I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that you get a nice strong beta tomorrow (which of course will double in 48 hours).

You are being quite the calm champ!

Brown blood is old blood, I wouldn't stress. But you know I'm going to be checking your blog obsessively all afternoon tomorrow, right? :P

Hang in there until you get those results! 2:00 or 3:00 isn't as bad as it could be...

Good luck!

You realize that I, the woman who never plans to be a baby oven, is seriously addicted to your story. Your blog may be worse than Days of Our Lives. Im checking all the time to see your world of hope and hiatus... Now I just want to throw in my two cents- move to canada! Lots of jobs, and our maternity leave is a year long, paid. Plus we're friendly up here.

Good luck!

I've also heard that brown blood is good (or at least common and nothing to worry about!). Kudos to you for not freaking out!!!

Betabase s a greatsite, and you can put your own betas in to see what they look like in comparison.

Can't wait to hear your numbers!!
